Elizabeth Spence, Red River Metis, is the Admissions Assessment Lead for Undergraduate Medical Education at the Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba. She is committed to advancing First Nations, Metis and Inuit health equity and contributing meaningfully to reconciliation in medical education and health. Elizabeth is also a graduate student at the University, pursuing a degree in Community Health Science and works as a sessional instructor with the department of Indigenous Studies and the Access Program. Elizabeth considers herself a helper and views her professional, academic and instructional work as both a privilege and a responsibility to her community.
