About the
Métis Thinkers Network
Building meaningful spaces for knowledge creation and exchange
The Métis Thinkers Network is a national, grassroots collective of Métis scholars, students, knowledge holders, and community members working to strengthen Métis-led research and scholarship.
Emerging from Li Rooñ pka-ana-natoneekichik (The Circle for Those Who Research), the network was created in response to longstanding gaps in Métis-specific research, limited inclusion within academic spaces, and the need for infrastructure that supports Métis intellectual and cultural sovereignty. Through gatherings, conferences such as Mawachihitotaak, and ongoing collaboration, the network fosters a vibrant academic and community space grounded in connection, mentorship, and shared purpose.
Rooted in Métis methodologies and the principles of relational accountability, reciprocity, and respect, the Métis Thinkers Network is committed to building meaningful spaces for knowledge creation and exchange. Our work supports holistic wellness, strengthens community capacity, and advances self-determined scholarship by centering Métis voices, experiences, and ways of knowing. From mentorship programs and writing retreats to a growing digital knowledge hub, we are creating pathways for Métis scholars and communities to connect, collaborate, and thrive, together.
