Carly Lawton is a Red River Metis and mixed European educator, artist, and traditional drummer/singer. She was born in Edmonton, grew up for a handful of years in the historic Metis community of Victoria Beach, and has now lived in Winnipeg for over ten years. She has obtained a B.A. in History and a B.Ed. She is currently learning Northern Michif and will be teaching middle school in the fall of 2026.
