Cierra Bettens is a Red River Métis/settler journalist, researcher and student in Concordia University’s Media Studies MA program. She hosts the weekly APTN News InFocus podcast, and previously worked as a Winnipeg reporter-correspondent for APTN National News. Cierra’s Michif family names include Bouvette, Huppé, Marchand, Harrison and Cyr, with ties to St. Boniface, St. Vital and Ste. Anne, Manitoba. She is a citizen of the Manitoba Métis Federation and a proud member of the MMF Bison Local. She grew up in Winnipeg and currently lives as a guest in Montréal/Tiohtià:ke/Mooniyang.
